On October 24 there was the final day of the second Contest on programming Nordavind-Dubna OpenSource Code Cup which was held by the GC Nordavind. To participate in this IT competition more than 60 students and postgraduate students from three Russian higher education institutions were registered. There were students from such universities as Dubna International University of Nature, Society and Man, Kostroma State Technological University and Don State Technical University.
The assignment consisted of several non-standard assignments on programming which should be done as fast as possible. Participants of the Contest offered different answers which allowed estimating their knowledge and the level of competences that they possess in information technologies.
Each registered user could trace his or her results of the performed tasks in real time. Despite it the intrigue – who will be a winner – remained till the last moment: some of the participants who successfully wrote programmes were applicants for a prize-winning place. The postgraduate student of Dubna University — Danila Kozhevnikov gathered the most number of points. He proposed the most effective solutions for assignments for the shortest time. Anastasia Igel, the 4-year student of Kostroma University, conceded several points and got the second prize. And Victor Dorokhin, the 1-year student of Dubna University who also successfully performed the tasks, won the third prize.
The three leaders will receive valuable prizes from the organizers of the competition and all other contestants will get the certificates of participation.
The Group of companies Nordavind thanks higher educational institutions for close cooperation and is sure that this Contest helped to strengthen partnership with them and to reveal future geniuses and talented perspective programmers who, perhaps, in some years will make next breakthrough in the field of information technologies.
